Hello,
Recent CCM Nurs School grad here. Have not taken NCLEX yet 3-7-08,
Good vibes for my NCLEX please ;-)
After looking at the local Job boards, i noticed that the majority are for Dialysis or Phlebotomists?
Just curious as to what this indicates about the field/? Is it in demand because no one has the skills, or because no one wants to do it???
Thanks in advance for any light you can shed on this subject.
I would like a night 12 hr shift med/surg gig, but at this point am thinking what ever it takes, what ever I can get will suffice.

My self being a phlebotomist with still current license but never worked as one, never saw too many jobs as phlebotomist or dialysis at least when I was looking for a position .
But if there are some why would you be interested?? You are gonna be a nurse right?? As a nurse you will get if not the triple, at least the double money..
And you need a separate certification to work as phlebotomist or dialysis tech anyway..
Good luck with your NCLEX..
sorry if i was being unclear, they RN jobs on this board are in the blood drawing/transfusing field.

I think the issue is that you his a patch of jobs being offered by Davita - which is a medical staffing company that specializes is kidney disorders and dialysis. So they would look for nurses for dialysis be it in a home setting or on a HD unit.
try checking some of the local hosptal sites for st clares, morristown memorial (atlantic health services), chilton, newton, etc... you will have a better shot of finding what you are looking for there.
And good luck with your boards. I thought the Rutgers review was really worth the money

AH-ha, thanks i should have guessed as much.
have sent them letters and calls. all say either call me when you pass nclex so we can update your file, or in AHS case they're not hiring.
And good luck with your boards.
Thanks!

i am having slight kaplan regret as the woman leading the course in person is less than stellar in her knowledge or the field. i can read the books explanations. it takes a nurse to really help explain. however i didn't want a reveiw. i wanted to pay for the qbank and the analysis of my test taking. that's what i payed for.
well off to the qbank.
thanks
