Why the fanny packs?

Published

I have a question for all you male nurses out there - and this is just out of pure curiousity. My coworkers and I (mostly women, I admit) were discussing this - WHY do male nurses wear fanny packs?

There are probably some fanny-pack-totin' female nurses out there, but we have mainly noticed the guys.

Better yet, WHAT IS IN THEM? lol :)

It's a mystery to us gals.

:lol2:

I need one where can I find them. The stethoscope and scissors are pulling my pants down when I am walking.

That's why. :trout:

I have this one and like it:

They make 3 other sizes.

:yeah: I just bought that one a couple of days ago. I can't wait to wear it to work. I was able to fit everything in there. Does your stethoscope fit in there well?

I am so excited to order a nursepropack. I hate hate hate having a ton of stuff in my pockets. It pulls the neck of my scrubs and gives me a headache! I am finally getting a steth holder as well to keep that off my neck for good!

I luv My fanny pack. I wear mine mostly b/c I am so mobile. I can not run to the break room for personal items since I am all over the hospital. So I carry some cash.lipstick, kleenex, mints, eyedrops,ASA and anything else I may need for the day.

my name is lucky

i've been an rn for 13 yrs now,

and i am a fannypacker.

and i absolutely wouldn't have it any other way! i love it!

first of all, i work on a very busy, 48 bed med-surg unit and carry 6 pts at best...and i don't have time to run back to the supply room for stuff or search in pockets. i know where everything is, like most fannypackers!

:onbch:

(i put this smiley here just because i like it, and vaca in 25 days!)
