Why are my books sooo big!!

I have been receiving all the textbook I have ordered for first semester and WOW. They are basically all huge!!!! Its sooo overwhelming... how am I going to be able to learn all of this!!!!! :confused:

I had the same reaction when i received my books. I dont even know how i am going to carry them to class

my med surg book is 2000+ pages. it should be 2 or 3 or 4 books on its own...this is ridiculous i can barely open it and lay it on my lap to read :(( lol

Unlike other classes, most nursing classes don't use the books to go chapter by chapter. You learn what your instructors teach in class, and you use the books as a reference to help you solidify that knowledge, give you information for reports, and learn about specific things as they're encountered in your education. Also, some of the books will be used for your whole nursing program. So, flip through the books, see how they're organized, then put them far, far away until you need them for school :) Good luck!

I'm just waiting for my school to officially release the book list. They seem to be having issues this year and are behind, I did manage to get into the book program but now it's shut down again. I'm going to be getting the finalized list and ordering most off of amazon w free shipping. They are waiting in the cart but as text books aren't cheap I'll wait to make sure, one set I do have to buy off the school but that's it . The best part is that it looks like I will be saving $20-$100 per book online so over $500 savings and the book sets are new with codes!

ya, im not gonna go bananas on reading it all word for word, but it still is intimidating ya know?

i just want to get the readings done before the first day of class...they like to surprise us w/ pop quizzes....i need to start off on the right foot lol
