Who's taken the teas v?

Published

And what did you think? I took it last week and feel like I was prepared for the Math and Reading portions by using the study guide but I really struggled with the Science portion. For me it was a lot of Chemistry and it's been a while since I've taken that course. I met the minimum requirements in each category for my program but it's the first year they're using the TEAS V (Last year they used the NET) so I'm not really sure what a competitive score is yet. Anyway I know there are different entrance tests and versions of the TEAS everyone is taking so I was just wondering how people felt about version V.

You didn't get your score after you were done taking the exam? I got mine right away.

The place I took it administered it in the paper/pencil version--which is nice when it comes to going back and checking work, etc.--so we won't get our results for a week. Pain in the gluteus. This whole process has already been an extended exercise in hard work ---> patience ----> focus ----> letting go of results. I'm not sure if the extra questions made it seem harder, but we'll see if that played into the results in a positive way.

I really wanted to put it out there that it's not as easy as a lot of people make it out to be. Even if it happens that I did okay on it, very little of my reasoning was anything other than educated guessing through much of the science portion. Still...that can go a long way toward narrowing choices down on a multiple choice test, right?

You're so lucky to have been able to get your results so soon!

You should keep checking the ATI testing site as that is where your scores will be posted when I took my test the first time (pencil and paper) it was posted within 48 hours. Hopefully you won't have to wait a week. :)

SO, MCGRAW OR ATI? I read a lot about people using ATI but I have McGraw which seems great. I also have kaplan, which I haven look at. Give some feedback on mcgraw

Get the ATI Study Manual. There are two practice tests in the book. But for myself, after I showed a lot of improvement between taking that first one and the second, I almost said, "Forget it!" and was going to not buy the online versions at ATI's website. I don't recommend that at all. The online versions were FAR closer to the difficulty level of the actual test. The real test was even harder than those so they prepare you better. They can be purchased individually for $35 or as part of a package with 2 of them and the study guide for...$85 (?). It's a good deal to get them all. I wish I had, like I said. Good luck.

Sounds like, from your experience the ATI worked well. Anyone use the mcgraand have any insight about its worth in preparing

Are some of the same questions from the study guide on the actual TEAS?

No, but the questions on TEAS 5 are identical TYPES as the ones in the official ATI study guide. So basically if you understand the concept to ALL the questions in that study guide, you have no excuse for getting less than a 90%!

I have the Mcgraw, sounds like I need to order the ATI.

Anyone in the kc area, who has a ATI book, interested on allowing me to borrow/ buy their book

I thought it was pretty hard. The first time I took it I got a 79% but I took it again a week later after studying just a bit and got 85% so if your program allows you to take the test twice, I would really recommend it. I had a couple study books that I ran through to refresh my basic life science and math, which helped.

My school is really competitive and requires a minimum 74%, but I hear that last year the lowest score admitted to the program was a 84% so I am kind of waiting for a miracle...

No. Not the same questions. Well...I don't know. Not that I was able to recall. If it happened, it was VERY incidental. Not most of the questions, at all.

I cant afford the whole packet for $85 just one or the other. Is it best to just go with the online study guide version?
