Hello all, I have lurked for quite a while on this forum and learned soooooo much valuable info. about CRNA school. Thanks to all the vets and those who give valuable information out. I am here in Houston and was just wondering who is applying to UT Houston's CRNA program this year? The application deadline has passed and I am anxiously, hopefully awaiting an interview invitation and wanted to know who else is? Thanks!
Thanks love seacraft! I wasn't too upset about TCU, cause it wasn't my first choice and it is much more expensive than UT. I REALLY want to go to UT cause that's my Alma Mater. At any rate, like I said, good luck to you, and let me know how your interviews turn out. I will keep you posted as well. When is your UT interview again, and what time?
Just heard today, drum roll......... I got into TCU! The interview was great, very laid back and I felt welcomed and relaxed. No clinical questions. Was primarily a meet and greet as they want to get to know you as a person. One question raised about if I had researched any political/legal topics relating to federal and state issues with CRNAs. Thank goodness I did the day before, and it's a big bonus if you can discuss this with an admissions committee. This is actually an interesting topic and very important to know anyhow. All the info you need is on AANAs website.
I still plan on visiting UT and will cancel with TWU fo sho. All the best Sugar!!

Yay!!!! You rock! I am soooooo happy for you. So, you are canceling with TWU, but still gonna go to UT's interview? What will you do if you get into UT as well? I mean which school is your first choice? U have me stoked now. I can't wait for the UT interview. Again, congrats! I know that is a load off your back to know you are already accepted at a school.
Thank you, and happy new year!!! As of now TCU is my top choice, especially since I just gave them $1,500 to hold my spot. I would like to see what UT's program is all about up close and personal. I do like that their tuition is much cheaper, but don't like that their program is 4 months longer. Yes, I am definitely relieved to have a spot in program.
You will do great! Keep me posted.

I hear you. Although TCU is not my first choice, it is mainly because I would have to move, and the tuition is much higher. As far as they school, I have heard nothing but great things about the program, and I am happy for you. Yeah, the UT interview is about 3 weeks away, so I am looking forward to it. I will keep you posted, and you do the same.
Is it possible to get into CRNA school with a BSN GPA of 3.2? What would I need on GRE or MAT to set myself apart? Would I need more ICU experience, how many years of ICU experience would I need before I should apply? I read somewhere that they look at surgical ICU experience over medical ICU experience. Would it be best to be core surgical or rotate through both surgical and medical. What about certifications, such as, CCRN, ACLS and PALS? What about committees, which ones would be good to be on? Any other advice you could give me would be wonderful as I continue my journey to be a CRNA one day!!!
