Anyone else out there starting in Fall at PSU Altoona? Super excited!

I also just got mine over the weekened! There is so much stuff we have to do before we begin it looks kind of confusing.

Yes it does! I emailed Dr. **** this morning because I'm a transfer student and haven't scheduled classes as of yet. Hopefully I'll hear back soon. Have you scheduled yet?

No I haven't schedule classes either, I thought that our classes were already scheduled for us. Now I'm confused....please let me know what Dr. **** says.

Dr.**** replied asking me to schedule an appt to meet for next week. I'm waiting to hear back from my sister as to what her work schedule is so that I can reply again to Dr. ****. The packet said that new students scheduled June 24th and everyone else is to contact the office *I Think*

Ok I also just e-mailed Dr.**** becasue I was confused. I went to the Altoona Registrar and found all of the classes we need to schedule. There is a Recommended Academic Plan for Second Degree in Nursing (NURS/SCND at Penn State Altoona and Penn State Harrisburg) that I followed to see which classes we are supposed to schedule. I'm just going to wait to hear back from Dr. **** incase we are supposed to wait until June 24th to schedule.

Yes, I've seen the recommended academic plan too. I'm not sure if it is different for anyone else, but I know as a transfer student I'm not sure what classes they are going to accept to go towards my degree and what I will have to petition. Basically, I think I need to speak with an advisor LOL

By transfer I mean from an entirely different state/university :p

Yeah that's true I wasn't even thinking about that lol my bad. I'm sure it will all work out in the end :) I'm excited to meet everyone!

I'm so excited to just get started already, or at least it be May 1st so I can get a jump on all of our requirements prior to entering the program. Do you or know anyone that uses the PSU student health insurance plans? I'm kind of in a tough spot health insurance wise, my husband is in the process of getting out of the Army, which means my current health insurance (Tricare) is null and void May 10th. Which creates a dilemma for proof in health insurance. Basically I was wondering if I purchased the student plan, if i'd be able to charge it to my bursars account.

Yeah I'm not really sure. I would definitely ask*************that when you meet with her. I wonder where we can take that CPR class and get all our clearances I'm still slightly confused on all this.

Ok CertifiedBackground.com. Everything will be open and available to us on there beginning May 1st. CPR you can take with lifelink. I actually scheduled mine for May 21st today because that is the soonest one after our May 1st date we can do. It's in state college. Here is the link I used and called to confirm with AHA Healthcare Provider CPR and recertification - Centre LifeLink EMS*

Thank you so much! Did you just sign up online? I think I will also sign up for the May 21st one at 6pm, its $75 right?

Yes ma'am it is. I already have a cpr mask though. I don't think they require you to purchase one but I think that's something you can do when the class is. See you there! :)
