  1. Your husband too? Sheesh must be in the water!
  2. I also have to wait until the end of June for my orientation But in the meantime I've been doing all of my compliances (which cost a fortune, might I add!)
  3. I looked into it slightly, and *I think*, you can have it billed to your bursars account. To apply for it all you do is apply online here. https://students.aetnastudenthealth.com/welcome.aspx?groupid=846513 and here is the fee schedule for the insurance https://www.aetnastudenthealth.com/students/student-connection.aspx?GroupID=846513. Hope this helps you out a little bit :)
  4. No I don't actually, I'm a transfer student coming from El Paso Texas, due to my husband leaving the Army. But I currently live in Pleasant Gap, PA. I will be commuting so I really hope to meet some other's commuting from the state college/bellefonte area so we can carpool. I'm extremely anxious to get things started too, I just feel so behind because I don't have a PSU I.D. or email yet. Hopefully we will be getting our packet this week! Fingers crossed for us! lol
  5. nvitkuske, check this webpage for tuition prices Office of the Bursar. Also I have already received my packet a few weeks ago, and there was a general orientation two weekends ago. Still haven't received my nursing packet, but that should be here fairly soon. I spoke with Dr. Kuhn via email a while back and she had said the packets were to be mailed out at the end of march. Have you received anything about your acceptance?
  6. Thanks Jennyy! My overall and pre-req GPA were both a 4.0. Are you a transfer student or already a PSU student? I was a transfer student and was basically told that transfer students are the last in line to be given slots into the program, so I was super nervous, but I guess it isn't impossible after all! Are you thinking about applying for the fall of 2014?
  7. You should hear back anywhere between february-March..I was told even as late as end of March. I got my acceptance notification on the mypennstate portal on February 18th this year.
  8. It should be on the bursars webpage Office of the Bursar. Last I checked I thought it was around 9 grand a semester but I could be wrong.
  9. As to how many they accept I believe it is 50 per semester, as it was explained to me by a admissions rep. The order of admission is as follows: True Freshmen, PSU Guaranteed admits, former/current PSU students, and then transfers.
  10. My personal opinion is for you to do the RN through EPCC and then your RN-BSN through UTEP. I actually just transferred out of EPCC to PSU (hubby ETS'ed). Everyone that I've spoken to in EP says EPCC's RN program is MUCH better than UTEP's but again personal opinion here. An added plus with EPCC is you will basically be paid to go to school at EPCC because of your GI-Bill and an added bonus if you qualify for your full Pell Grant. I wasn't able to use any sort of GI money but my pell grant alone was much larger than the tuition at EPCC.
  11. I do, but my situation is a tad bit more complicated. I am a transfer student, who has transferred directly into the nursing program. So while they told me all my credits were accepted, they failed to let me know if those credits will be used towards my degree or not. I'm thinking I will learn this info at my advising session. But yes I have completed pre-reqs just not at PSU Altoona.
  12. Thanks everyone! I'm super excited to get started!
  13. Yes ma'am, I'll be starting in the fall!
  14. Anyone else out there starting in Fall at PSU Altoona? Super excited!
  15. Holy cow, but I just got my acceptance offer on my mypennstate portal! I'm so darn excited!! I never thought i'd get in as a transfer student, because admissions basically told me I was the last to be chosen because PSU students have priority with guarenteed admission. Anyone else accepted into PSU Altoona's Fall 2013 Nursing program?
