Whoever went through NCLEX

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

Guys, I was thinking, let's share everybody who took NClEX ( passed or failed, doesn't matter):

1. Any topic(s) you can remember. ( disease, procedures, symproms, drugs, anything)

2. Which study book it reminded you the most of: Saunders, Kaplan, Lippincott, Mosby's... etc?

3. What strategy(s) did you use? ( When you absolutely didn't know which answer to pick).

If anyone wants to add anything, feel free.

I thought it might help people who are studying.

Every exam is different so what was on another's, more than likely won't even be on your exam. There is absolutely nothing to try and memorize for the exam, it is based on using common sense.

Just do a search here and see what is already posted.............. :wink2:

I have some nclex topics to share from my Aug 15th nclex. Just pm me and I'll send you a list. For books, I would stick to the 3rd ed of the Saunder's comprehensive. I really recommend the nscbn on-line course becasue it is affordable and it covers a lot of nursing content.

Be aware that you signed a document that you would not divulge information from your exam, and here you are asking someone to e-mail you for the list.

I would be very careful on doing this.

Also remember that the exam doesn't stay the same and is always changing.

The exam is always changing, yet it's all the same!

Nobody's quoting. I think it's ok to talk about general topics.

Unfortunately, questions have been quoted here in the past. And when you do go to take the exam, you are signing a document that you will not divulge what is on the exam.

You will already find all of the information on this site if you will just di a search, or even a review of this forum. There are hundreds of threads on the same topic.

It seems like a general idea of the subject areas is what is being requested. No one asked for a list of the questions they remember from their exam. It seems like this issue is a dead horse, how about we let it rest in peace.

I would study up on prioritizing, knowing your ABCs, Safety FIRST, Maslows Hiercarchy (sp) of needs, study common drugs, and know your common LAB values. Knowing the lab values for me really helped!

When I absolutely had know idea, I just had to use common sense and my gut instinct.

GOOD LUCK!

Unfortunately, I have had to spend quite a bit of time cleaning up actual questions that were posted here..........perhaps you never saw them........there was significant amount of them just a few months ago.

Exact qeustions with the four choices from the exam.

I agree with Suzanne, I saw those post and copied them and none of them were on my nclex.

As far as topics! KNow them ALL!!! It's wierd how the nclex asks questions. They may not ask exactly about CHF but they will ask you who to see first and give you a list of patients with different diseases and you have to know which symptoms are normal for that disease and which ones are not.

Know your labs. I didn't get asked specific lab questions but it would be in a choice of answers and if I didn't know the normal lab, I couldn't eliminate it as a choice. Drugs, I only got 4 drug questions They were not specific drugs it was the class of drugs, so I would say know your drug classifications and what to monitor for and know if the drug is working or not.

There really is no way of focusing for the nclex. Just do the questions and you should be fine. You know enough to at least narrow it down to the right answer.

Good luck
