Which do u think influenced more in nursing?Peplau or Nightingale? why?

As a guy going into nursing it is hard for me to like Nightingale. She beleived that nursing was a womens perfession and should only include women.
I know that she did a lot of great things but it is hard for me to get past that one thing. I guess you can just call me a small person

She was a product of her time, during that period the general consensus was that wormen couldn't be doctors, so we can all call it even really.

Well, let's see. Florence Nightingale believed in total patient care and died of syphillis. Don't see her as someone to emulate :rotfl: . The other name mentioned, to be perfectly honest, I never heard of them. My hero in nursing was one of my instructors. If it wasn't for her, I wouldn't be a nurse today.

And where did you hear Nightingale died of syphillis? She was 90 when she died. Most people manage to contract syphillis and die from it long before they reach their 90s.
