Who is starting LVN-RN this summer?

Nursing Students LPN-RN

Published

I received my acceptance letter to one college and am waiting to hear from another. Anyone else starting this summer? I haven't taken Health Assessment yet so I will be off and running in May doing the class in a mini-mester. I have been taking pre-req's since 2004... let the fun begin!

Specializes in CCU.

I am going to start my transition program this summer...LPN2ADN. 2 semesters of full-time isn't bad. I am dreading re-entering the world of nursing school.

Yes me too. I am worried about all the pesky habits I have picked up over the last 17 years. You know the ones- NOT the book way but the real world way.

Specializes in Med/Sug, Long Term Care.

I begin my LPN-BSN program on June 19th.

I am excited but nervous too.

It's not a traditional program but it is through University Of Phoenix and it's still a fairly young program.

I know there will probably be a few bumps along the way...hopefully not too big.

Best of Luck to All!!

We can do it!!

:angryfire I am currently completing my RN through Excelsior. If I had done more thinking I would have just done their BSN instead of the ASN and I wouldn't have the BSN hanging over my head. Man I just really wanted that salary upgrade. I work agency and i hated going to one of my regular spots and seeing an RN on my "usual" assignment knowing she is getting 42/hr while i get 32/hr for the same assignment I had the night before.

One month down...10 to go. Seems odd to be studying for the final tomorrow because we just started class May 21st.

Had 3 major exams, went thru a week long clinical. Turned in a big nursing process paper and did a teaching/learning presentation. I am sitting pretty because I have gotten A's on everything so far.

After final tomorrow I am off of school until July 9th. Then we begin the second crazy fast-paced Summer II session.

How's school going for everyone else?

Specializes in ICU, PICC Nurse, Nursing Supervisor.

you have to be a rn to get into their bsn program at ec. i am a agency nurse and know exactly what you mean!!!!

just mailed in my enrollment fee to excelsior.

am ready & waiting to get started.

once you've made up your mind to pursue something, it seems like you can't get the wheels turning quickly enough.

i really like that it can be done on my timetable rather than waiting each week for classes to take place.

good luck to all, janet

that is a big chunk of change!!! i still a, trying to decide if ec is the best thing or if i should go the traditional route. i figured up that i have 20,000 clinical hours ,but the one thing i don't want to face is failing the cpne. i know it would be hard to pay for it in the first place much less repeating it...all of the programs in my area wont take applications again until next year and i could be done and working on my rn to bsn by then.. i don't know ,but i need to get on with it if i'm gonna make the oct deadline!!!
