Who is your software vendor for 3.0?

My facility is Pointclickcare. I am having a hard time adjusting from the 2.0 to 3.0. The old one seemed more streamline and user friendly. There seems to be more intricate things going on in 3.0. The one thing I absolutely find great is the RAI manual is loaded right in there.

PS I am neither looking for bashing or endorsements of vendors. Just conversation on other's experiences.

My facility also has MDScare by LTC. Found a new glitch today -- I couldn't change the type of assessment when I went in to do a correction on an assessment with errors. I was told they'd get a 'patch' put out to repair this problem some time next week. Thank goodness I have 14 days to do a correction.

I can't stand PCC! It's worse now than it ever was!

i read somewhere that cms isn't penalizing this month, due to their own issues as well i guess.

twonumbnutsinacan....gotta luv it

also, i thought i saw somewhere mds scare...

happy haunting everyone!

Our facility is using Sigmacare which is fairly user friendly. I think just the fact that we transitioned into MDS 3.0 and Sigmacare at almost the same time has just about "fried" the PPS Coordinator and my MDS brains!! We are putting in lots of overtime hours (I'm salary). We have found ourselves both about ready to throw in the towel on numerous occasions...we are trying to hang in there and hope that 3.0 will be just an awful memory in a few months.

we use accucare....very slow. When u call tech support.they tell you there are "18" calls ahead of you....have had a couple issues with missing info on the print out. have had 2 updates so far and another expected soon.

I'm an LVN and I work in MDS. We have been using Accucare which continues to freeze on us. Lose our assessment data. And causes CMS to reject our assessments because of the "missing data" that appears on the program but not when printed out or transmitted. My boss and I feel like crying everyday. We have so many assessments to do. We are training a part time RN to help but with all the assessments we have to do and this RN's personality, we are not successful. OMG...

Still having software issues. Can't do corrections - they've been working on this problem since Mid October!! I believe we've had 5 software 'fixes' since it came out.

We have Care Tracker & it has been slow & freezes up. Everyone knew that 3.0 was going Live 10/1/10 but yet it seems these Companies were unprepared.

My Boss & I are real fed up with this whole 3.0 mess.....we are going to see "if things get better" if not, we will most likely get out..... :smokin:

We're considering switching to a different software for exactly these reasons! I like Accucare for the most part, but they just can't seem to figure out 3.0.

I think I might be able to help with your issue, though. I fought with the same thing for a week and couldn't get a response from tech support, so I started jacking with it myself, lol. When you download the latest update (6.4.5 or something like that), and the patch, it should give you the missing sections and "missing data" that is causing the rejection. BUT to get the new sections, etc to be visible to CMS you have to jack with it, lol. Before you do anything, make sure your ongoing is updated to the ARD of the assessment you're trying to submit. After you're *positive* that that's done, open the assessment and delete it. I know...;). Then you have to make a new one that will essentially be the one you deleted, only the new sections probably won't be filled in. This "refreshes" everything so that when you transmit, it **shouldn't** be rejected. Extra emphasis on the shouldn't part....

Good luck :)

We are using Keane software....

and for some reason none of my 3.0 info carries over from one assessment to the next like the 2.0 did..... with the exception of the demographics in section A...

any other Keane users have a solution??? I have to do every single assessment from scratch and with the new full d/c assessments Im drowning !!!!

I have worked with several different software and was also instrumental in setting a new system from scratch. I have seen this problem when a software does not carry over the information from a prior MDS. I have not seen a software that completely transfers any information from 2.0 to 3.0. However, I have worked with one software that translate only a few information from 2.0 to 3.0 (depending whether the section question did not change). I had to call the software company and requested the information for all the different companies and/or software to add and/or "turn on" this feature. I recommend that you call your software provider and request if there is such a feature that will allow you to "copy information from latest assessment". The companies that I had to request this feature did not pay extra for this. You can also ask and download information on milvalihealthcare.com and get responses right away. Goodluck!

we have used MDI - OLA for a couple of decades until the change to MDS 3. With it came a ton of problems and the threat of default rates because the software was extremely buggy. Fortunately, through several talks with MDI we were able to move to their premier software, the Matrix. It has a couple of features that are being installed today that should enhance the system even more. The Matrix is sweet and easy to work with - night and day between the two products from the same company. In addition for back up we have Care Watch from eHealth Data Solutions which is great for error checking and is also set as our backup for assessment submission to CMS. Don't get me wrong, nothing is perfect, but we have come through a lot of hell in the last several weeks and now things are looking up.
