I would rather work for a registrty because of the freedom no getting caught up in the political problems these acute care floors have. Plus the money no attachment. Just come get your assignment, give great care and go home. No forced overtime, no fighting to avoid floating.

Speaking from experience, I would prefer to work for a traveling agency like healthcareseeker.com -- for a modest fee that doesn't come out of your pocket, they do all the work and find the best jobs! Plus, your on assignment for a minimum of 13 weeks, so you avoid all the political baloney associated with perm work at a hospital.

I would rather work for a travel nurse company/agency because there are no politics and red tape involved for the nurse to deal with. The agency takes care of everything, finds the assignments for their nurses, we go in and do the agreed upon contract, and move on to another assignment. Having worked as a travel nurse before, I prefer this method of earning an income versus being staff somewhere again. So, if I ever do return to nursing, I would work staff long enough to satisfy the travel agencies "current acute care experience" requirement, then return to travel nursing as soon as a travel company would accept me. :)
