O.K. I just got my letter! I have been accepted into the fall program. Orientation is May 19. Can't wait! So, who else is in? :)

CONGRTAS to all that made it!! I am currently attending baker and was wondering if my chances would be better to get accepted at MCC. Bakers nursing program just seems impossible to get accepted into.

Katie, I was at Baker too. I started at Macomb, took all their pre-req's, got denied the first time I applied, and went to Baker. I got denied my first time there too, and finally just got accepted to MCC for this fall. I have a 24.27 for this application period at Baker, but I don't think I'm even going to apply because I know I want to go to MCC, because they're NLNAC accredited.
Apply everywhere and anywhere that you can. MCC took 159 people this time around. They only look at your GPA for A&P, Micro and Comp 1 and your HESI score (50/50). You only have to have a C or better in Psych and Nutrition, which are their other pre-req's that you need to have completed before your start date. The amount of pre-req's are significantly less than Baker. I hated all those stupid computer classes that they make you take. They're definitely looking for the money. I know that you can sign up for the HESI @ MCC starting in either June or July, and you can go to their website to find it all out and look at their selective admission packet. Best of luck to you!
It seems like MCC is more realistic to get into. How many people does MCC take a year.
They took 159 this year. But you have to keep in mind that they allow 1,000 applicants. So it is just important to have the highest grades possible with the best HESI score you can get. I had an A in anatomy, A- in communications/comp 1 and a B+ in Micro and an 87.4 on the HESI, and BARELY made it in. I was 151 out of 159. But in is in!! :) Who knows if the stats will be the same next year, but it's worth a try! I don't like how I had to take 13 classes to apply at Baker. And this last time around, you couldn't have anything lower than an A- as far as grades (or have a high score with your second point as a re-applicant), without losing any points and an 80 or better on the NET. The lowest they took was 23.7 out of 24. You should apply there anyways though, because again, you never know who the competition is. Fall #'s are usually lower than Spring. Application at Baker starts today, by the way.
I cant apply at Baker till Fall anyways. I dont want to waste any more money taking more pre reqs at baker when if I have better chances of transfering to Macomb and getting into their program. So far I have an A in comp 1 and B in AP. Im taking Micro next semester. The HESI contains AP now also right?
Yes, the HESI has A&P now. Again though, you never know what the competition will be. I mean, I barely made it with my scores. So, if you dont have that much more to do, keep going at Baker. It's best to keep your options open for anything and everything, since it is SO competitive. My friend had my same scores, (A, A- and B+) and an 84 on the HESI and was # 201 (they stop the alternate list @ 200), so basically, she didn't get in. You would just hate to quit at Baker, and then not get the score you want on the HESI (just a "what if"!), and then be out of luck at both schools. You may want to look in Wayne CCC and OCC as well. I didn't even ask what my ranking was. I mean does it really matter? Also I think I'm the only guy posting that got in!
yes murph1981, it does matter, because it decides when you start their program. They have 4 start dates (August, October, January and March) and the higher your ranking, the sooner you start (provided you've finished all your pre-req classes). And you're not the only guy! When I went to find out my ranking, I was with another girl and two guys (I don't know them, they just showed up at the same time) who were finding their's out too. So you'll have some company. See you on the 19th

So, when would we graduate? Would it be the Spring of 2012?
