I am currently a Certified Nurse Assistant at a behavioural medicine hospital and interested in exploring the field of CNA self employed entreneurship to its highest potential
I have leadership experience in training new staff for orientation, volunteered in a research project for performance improvement to reduce company cost and improve patient satisaction at my current job and worked as a certified nurse assistant for over five years, I have no direct management experience; however, through my social media marketing and research abilities, I am intrigued by the entrepreneurship process in health care.
I would be grateful for any advice you may have for me. Thank you for your consideration.

You can create a website and advertise as a private non-medical caregiver for elderly people who need companionship. You could also work as a newborn care specialist, providing basic childcare to healthy infants inside the homes of overwhelmed new parents.
Thank you. I don't have experience in newborn care even though it's an incredible idea. :) I did do a trial-run as a nurse resume writer for new graduate RN's I did get quite a few interested. I didn't market myself as much since I was doing a trial run, but if I stuck to it, can possibly be lucrative.
I've read about being nurse inventor, start a temp staffing agency, start a home health agency, nurse consultant as a CPR trainer, etc. My goal is to make the party job easier with my services.
Thanks. I'm more interested in learning the day-to-day operations of a staffing agency as a solo employer at first and up to 8 qualified staffed employees to reduce hiring cost for hospitals etc.

I also thought about self employment as a CNA. My concern is keeping up my training requirements for certification and insurance (as in "malpractice"). ..If someone falls (or whatever)while in my care..... it could get ugly.
@missingyou i agree
has anyone started a staffing agency as a solo employer or a private duty business?
@thecommuter
are you talking about starting a placement/recruiter agency using a website?

Just a word of caution from someone who is not a lawyer, has never played a lawyer on television and does not give legal advice. Please be careful about calling what you do "nurse" anything. A CNA is not a nurse, and using the title "nurse" might be considered misleading or even illegal in some places and situations.
I really liked the ideas of private non-medical adult care giving, opening a non-medical adult day care center, and so on. This could be profitable as well as capitalizing on your BH experience.
Thanks. I've been in Psychiatry, Mental Health position for 5 years and before I became a certified nurse assistant, a caregiver for 3 years. I'm looking into the baby boomers.
I'm a baby boomer. What are you looking into about us?
Well I'm in the marketing research stage in the community. as a cna, I particpated on a project saving the hospital mooney where I work at to my resume, so I believe I'm trying to strive in that direction
