I am planning to work in UK. I 'd like to ask whose responsibility is to draw blood in the hespitals? nurses, techs, doctors?

Specializes in Medical and general practice now LTC.

Depends on the hospital, during day time hours there may be technicians otherwise would be the nurse. Very rarely did I see Dr's take bloods unless it was blood gases or someone very difficult to get blood from and nurses had exhausted everything

Most hospitals will have phlebotomy staff during daytime hours, after that it is doctors or nurse practitioners. Some nurses will if they have the training and time but it's not part of the role unless they work in a specialist area.

Specializes in Critical care.

It's also more commonly done by HCAs in some hospitals

It depends on the hospital as others have said. Where I first worked, it was mostly the phlebotomists in the day time or the nurse practitioners at night.

When I worked in A&E the nurses were trained, but 95% of the time, the physicians assistants take the blood.

Where I work now, all the nurses have to take bloods and cannulate.

depends on where you work, and whether taking blood is part of your role in your department. larger hospitals will have phlebotomists, community hospitals may not and then the nurses will be trained to take blood and cannulate.
