WHNP or FNP in VA?

My back ground is in labor and delivery and I would still like to do something with prenatal or post partum women. I'm local to VA Beach, VA and I'm trying to decide on a specialty. I'm also new to this area so I am unfamiliar with the job market here.

My ideal career would be in a obstetrics or women's health clinic. However, I am concerned if I only do WHNP then I'll be limiting job choices. Should I instead go for a FNP or dual FNP/WHNP? Thanks in advance.

The job market in our area is limited for women's health. I would definitely say the dual program would give you more options. The Hampton Roads area is saturated with NPs. A dual certification is make you stand out. If you end up in a rural area like the Eastern Shore you will be doing women's health in primary care.

WHNP/FNP gives you more options. CNM still relegates you to only women's health.
