Whiteville NC/Columbus Co. Hospital

Published

Anyone hear anything good/bad/ugly about Whiteville NC/Columbus County Hospital? Also, anyone have good/bad experiences with Advantage RN? I've checked out other sites but wanted to hear anything/everything here from you all.

My advice, don't do it. Just trust me. There are plenty of other options.

Yea, there is nothing in whiteville. Theres not really any big city around it and the beach is still too far...well only about 1 1/2 hours but still.

Dhogan -- you were RIGHT! That place was a NIGHTMARE! If I am ever traveling through that area, and need medical assistance, I will be taken to the nearest veternarian's office, or across the state line!!! DON'T GO TO COLUMBUS REGIONAL (NC) if you value your license!!!

Don't waste your time. This is a sad place. I am finishing my BSN so that I can relocate.:balloons: Look elsewhere unless you like sitting in the house {no night life} Plenty of churches and banks.

I'm from a small town about 13 miles away from Whiteville. I've lived here all of my life and I have to be honest in telling you that there isn't much here. There isn't much of a nightlife, but I guess that's to be expected with a small town. I think that the area is a great place to raise a family (low crime and decent housing) but if you are looking for a place that has a bustling economy and lots of excitement then Whiteville isn't the place for you. I am a nursing student right now and as soon as I finish school and pass the NCLEX (hopefully), my family and I will be relocating to a place where there is a more opportunities for us. I did clinical rotations in Columbus Regional as a pharmacy technician and I didn't care too much for it, (I found it to be very boring) now I have been assigned Columbus Regional for clinical rotations as a nursing student. It's an OK hospital but this area is just done for me and I'm ready to move on. One of the good things about Whiteville is that you're only about an hour from Myrtle Beach, SC which is a fantasic area with lots of things to do and see and you're only about an hour from Wilmington, NC which is where a lot of films are done and it's a nice place to hang out at. If I were in your position I would probably do a little more research on the area before making a decision. It isn't neccesarily a bad area to live, it's just a little slow moving and kind of boring but hey, that's the way most small Southern towns are. Good luck in whatever decision you choose to pursue.
