I know there are several states that hire nursing students pending that they pass the NCLEX. I am really interested in working in Pennsylvania when I graduate, but I would like to have job security before I move there. Do you know if PA is a state that hires pending you become licensed as an RN?
ALLL states hire RNS as GNS graduate nurses with an ATT (athorization to test) letter
Any employer in any state can make a job offer before someone has passed the NCLEX, but one can't actually work as a graduate nurse (GN) unless you're in a state that allows that and issues temporary permits, and fewer and fewer states do. And, even in the states where that's a possibility, fewer and fewer employers are willing to bother with GNs.
WV offers a 6 month temporary license. I'm not aware of any facilities in my area (that are in WV) that don't hire graduates with only a temp license. I can't say how it impacts the odds you'll get a job but I know of 2 and possibly a 3rd new grad at my facility who are working under a temp license.

Alabama has a temporary license so you can start working before you have taken your NCLEX or gotten your license. Georgia definitely doesn't because that's where I am and I had to have my license in hand to start work.
