To be completely honest with you I'm a New RN and I dont care about which state pays the best for a new RN.My only wish is to get a decent job offer (you know basic things any new grad would hope for like fair orientation period, supportive co-workers,nice charge nurse) given the economical turmoil U.S found itself in.
What do you mean a "fair orientation period" ....I don't know what that means.thanks.
Orientation is your training period. As a new grad, you want to make sure your new employer gives you a fair orientation period, meaning long enough for you to learn what you need to know to practice safely and feel comfortable. Usually this is 8-12 weeks following an experienced nurse, even up to 6 months for a new grad in an ICU. Many places put new grads through some classroom time as well.

At this point, it seems the big question is "which states are hiring new grads"? Boston starts new grads at $28-$30+ an hour. The cost of living here is high though, and finding a new grad position is very tough right now.
Good luck in your search!
