Which specialty do you recommend? FNP, PNP, or another?

Published

I am a career changer and currently completing prereqs. I am looking into some accelerated BSN+MSN programs. Which area do you think will have the greatest job outlook for primary care- FNP, PNP, or any other suggestions? Also, what kind of starting salaries are realistic? I am in the Atlanta area and open to practicing rurally.

Thanks so much!

You can look up salaries for your area on glassdoor.com for both specialities.

Thank you for responding! I have, but unfortunately, in my experience those numbers aren't always accurate.

Specializes in Hospital medicine; NP precepting; staff education.

If you'd like to expand your options, FNP might benefit the most.
