Hello everyone,
This is my first post and please feel free to move it to another topic if I may have accidentally put it in the wrong one.
I am from Vancouver, BC Canada and I'm wondering (to anyone who's a fellow Vancouverite) to which post-secondary institution can I get into taking my A&P 1 course. I'm currently at KPU right now (in their health foundations program) and they have a reputation of being more hard when it comes to their biology but I'm thinking of taking their A&P 1 as a last resort there.
I was also thinking of Langara's A&P 1 since it is transferable over to KPU's, but what's the chance of me actually getting into the course. I'm planning to apply through their Foundations in Health Studies so would that make me priority of getting a seat?
Don't comment anything on Douglas - I spoke to their registrar's office and they treat you like you're completely clueless & utter garbage, when I was just politely asking for more information. Not planning to take it there with that kind of attitude they gave me.
Let me know your thoughts!
Much appreciated
You will do great ! Everyone learns differently in the class but one thing that helped me is I did flashcards with questions on them. Like "what artery feeds the left side of the heart?" And fill in the blank flashcards. It challenges you to see what you really know as opposed to just writing stuff down and assuming you will remember for the exam. I'm not going to lie, the class is time
Consuming but you will be happy you did it. If you ever have any questions let me

I have taken both of the a&p course at kpu for my prerequisites and never had a trouble getting in even before i was in the health foundations program. I retook it this summer to improve my gpa and there were only 10 students in my class. So I would say that kpu classes are the easiest to get into. Everyone considers kpu a&p as a hard course since the grading system is so bad. Weekly quizzes are at 30% and two exams worth 35% each. So if you screw up one of those things then your mark is heavily effected. Plus lab evaluations take up a lot of time and they are not even worth any marks, but are still mandatory. Hard course but definitely possible if you put in the time and effort. Did you end up getting in for fall 2017?
Hey, I'm trying to register for BHSC 1200 for the upcoming winter semester. Can you give me any information on how registration went for you? Was it difficult to get into a class? A&P is the last class I have to take before applying to Langara's nursing program and I can't get into it anywhere! I've been trying for a year, and I just found out about BCIT's course so I'm hoping I'll have luck with this one! I'm just hoping entry is not as competitive as other institutions.
If anyone has any information on this, I'd really appreciate it! Thanks :)
