Which path should I choose?

I would transfer. The student life won't really matter that much, because you will have to spend so much time studying and doing homework. Good Luck!

I agree, transfer. Psychology is great, but you really can't get anywhere with that degree unless you go all the way, with a masters, or phd. I think nursing is the most rewarding 2 year degree out there.....both emotionally and financially :)

You can still go on for your BSN, MSN, or whatever you choose but at least you can start working as a RN while you do it

If I were you I would stay! There were several students who applied right out of undergrad to my program and enjoyed it. If you're not worried about wasting time, are enjoying college currently and are getting something out of it there's no point in transferring. Nursing school is hard and if you don't have a fun outlet or friends at your new school, I think it would just be miserable.

Do some things to bring up your GPA, stay involved in activities, volunteer, work as a CNA, etc. All of those things will help you get into nursing school.

I can transfer to the other school and be in the right major and finally on the path to my career OR I can stay here, have fun, major in PSYCHOLOGY

All I can say to you is: only do the nursing thing when you're ready. If you have to choose between getting your life started or having fun, I think you have more soul searching to do. Though I should add that as a reformed Psych major myself, like N1colina said, unless you go for your Doctorates there's not much you can do with it. Besides, the 100's and 200's Psych classes were a blast. The 300's and 400's were terribly boring!

I must add the program id be switching into is a 4 year nursing program ( i have the first two years basically completed because I have taken a&p, chem, child development, pathophysiology.. etc) so i'd have two years left.

or id have two years left here at this university just doing psychology because its near impossible to get into this nursing program. (ive heard the other one is a bit easier)

Im just having a tough time deciding which is more important in college, fun, or academics. I think a balance is definitely best, but that is basically what my options are at this point.

For me personally, at 18, FUN was more important. I had no interest in the courses I was taking in college. That was just me though, you need to do what you think is best for you. If I was in your situation at 18, I probably would stay and have fun, but it sounds like you're driven and know your goals. So the real question is, How soon would you like to become an RN?

Somewhat similar situation here...I have a Bachelor's degree in Cultural Anthropology and Sociology...wanting a career change from the current social work position I hold and have decided on nursing. A friend of mine said there was a program to obtain a BSN on an accelerated path...advice?? Which route should I go?? I have a 7 week old son and would like to hold a stable, decent paying position for his benefit and our families. Where do I start??

I set up meetings with the two nursing colleges in our area for next week but is there stuff I should be prepared to ask?? Financial aid options/grants etc?? EXCUSE THE SPELLING I HAVE MY 7 WEEK OLD IN MY ARMS AS WELL! =)
