I'm going to be starting nursing school this January and I read alot in the forums how doing review questions from the NCLEX books help a lot and get you prepared for the actual test. Some schools use the ATI books to do those NCLEX types of questions, but I don't think my school uses them. So, which books would you recommend to a beginning nursing student to practice those NCLEX questions. I would prefer a book that is organized in a way that goes by topics so I can easily find the questions to what I am currently studying in school. Thanks.

I'm starting in January also. I ordered the Saunder's Comprehensive Review for Nclex-RN. It is HUGE and has a lot of good ratings. Go to amazon.com and look up the ratings and the info on the book. What I really like about it is that there are rationales for all of the answers. I'm also thinking about ordering the Kaplan Nclex Review because it also has good ratings and is very recent (2010).

Everyone buys Saunders. Buy it from amazon and make sure IT COMES WITH A CD if you're buying it from like ebay or another source. Retailers will charge you an additional $20 if you don't buy it online ... I found it the hard way on a impulse buy from B&N!

I am here to tell you Saunders 4th edition is great! You will find it very helpful when studying Med. Surg. too. Also look at Pharmacology Success and Medicl Surgical Success.
Good luck

I passed the NCLEX-PN with the help of the Saunders Comprehensive Review, and I intend to use the it when studying for the NCLEX-RN next year.

I recommend Saunders. I also have Prentice Hall's Reviews & Rationales: Comprehensive NCLEX-RN Review. It's very good and it also comes with a CD like the Saunders one which is nice, but I like the Saunders slightly better because it has pictures and things lol. I'm a visual learner!
Thanks for the feedback. It looks like Saunders is the best book to go with.
