Which military branch is LEAST likely to force reserve nurses to go active?

Published

If I choose to join the reserves as an operating room RN, which of the following branches is LEAST likely to force me to go active?......

Army reserve

Air Force reserve

Navy reserve

Army National Guard

Air Guard

Navy National Guard

I'm a veteran by the way.

based on what.. past scenarios? doesn't apply to the future...

you need to look at units in you area... units are designed for certain roles.. some augment, some replace active duty units that deploy... etc.

You should put a caveat as you are looking for stability rather then least likely to deploy as it sounds of poor taste w/o context.....

state national guards might be more likely to deploy overall.. but that is not limiting deployment to state need vs oconus.....

A person should not join the reserves if they dont want to go active. It makes no sense at all. In other words, I would not join with that attitude at all.

dude seriously don't join. Just don't. Too many people trying to get out of deployments where I work, drives me nuts. I volunteered for mine.

You're a vet, but have you already deployed to theatre?

To be fair, deployment is a deployment, unless you go to GTMO...

No, not all deployments are created equal; especially in light of his desire to minimize the odds of his deploying.
