Which MCCCD ADN Waitlist

Published

I'll be applying in about two-three months. I live in Tucson. I'm just not familiar with the community colleges or even their locations. (Ok, so I know Scottsdale is north LOL).

I know it's hard to say, but which of the CC's tend to have the shortest waits? What do you think about putting down Mesa since it has so many spots? Or does everyone do that = longer Mesa wait?

For some reason I'm drawn to Phoenix College from what I've read on the board here.

Ok, so I know it's hard to say. But I'd appreciate any ideas, thoughts, or even rumors.

CAC obtained a new director Fall 06. With that change came a change to their program. Beginning Spring 07, they went from only offerring start dates in the Fall of each year to offerring start dates in the Fall AND Spring.

In addition, in a letter to me dated late last Fall from CAC's nursing department, it was explicitly noted that they will NOT maintain a wait list. You either get in, or you don't. Their selection criteria hadn't yet been fully hammered out, but from the letter and what the advisor told me, GPA, number of courses completed, testing scores (HESI I believe), essay, and interview were factors.

CAC does, however, require a CNA license.

I am impressed by them saying an interview is required. Way to go in choosing applicants! Let professionalism and poise payoff in the admissions process.

CAC is a nightmare now! Dean got fired... schedules never staying as set... this program is horrid. My spouse is in Block II and NOT getting the support needed. Steer clear!
