Hi, I'm going to take a&p 1 in the spring, but I want to take a refresher course at the community college continuing ed online (it's one of those quicky onine 6 week courses). Was thinking about taking both Medical Terminology and A&P1, but which should I take first? Do I need to know the medical terms before the anatomy/physiology, or is it the other way around? I have enough time to take both individually before my Spring classes start. thanks all
I should add, this quicky course is not for credit, I'm just getting background in the subjects so I can really do well in the spring.

You don't need to do Medical Terminology, but it does help, especially since you'll already know what distal/proximal, ventral/dorsal, etc. are.
Bonus points if you take a class that makes you decline nouns in medical Latin...

Hi acubed, I took Med. Term. first and that is helping me out a lot in A&P 1 right now. You don't have to take Med. Term., unless that is a requirement for the program but I don't think it is ?? but anyways it really does help even if you don't have to take it but do : ) If you think you could handle taking them at the same time, you could take them together, but you have to really put a lot of time to study for A&P 1 and have hm, quizes and tests for Med. Term. as well, depending on the teachers. Well, good luck and God bless!

I took A&P1 first, then the next semester took Med Term and A&P2. Between A&P1 and my general knowledge (from prev vet experience and watching medical shows LOL) I was able to breeze through Med Term. I also took it online and it was a "quickie" 12 weeks. Very easy.
Thanks everyone for your input. I signed up for the medical term now, it's 6 weeks (it's online and through continuing education at a community college--not for credit). After that, I'm going to enroll in the 6 week A&P 1 online with them too, I should be done before my real A&P1 class starts in the spring. I really want to have 3.5 or better in nursing bcse I want to go on and get my NP after my RN. Just to let you all know, I'm also signing up for a HIPAA quickie course to make my resume look good after I finish the RN, and also spanish medical. Just want to make sure I can get a job
I think they teach us about HIPAA in nursing, right?
yes they will teach it in nursing school, but i'm also trying to get my cna and that can help me get a job

I was thinking about taking a basic Spanish course to add to my resume as well. Has anyone else done this without having to?
