I live in miami, and cannot say that this is the best city.
The pay is not great, for new grads we start out on average at $21/hr.
Hospitals are so picky when it comes to hiring. Both my friends applied at my hospital with their licenses in hand, and both were denied jobs.
only one of my other friends is working there, because I recomended her to work there as a care assistant when she was in nursing school, so she still works there.
but again, some people have it easy entering nursing school and getting jobs.
I don't know what it takes to get into nursing school down here in miami, I was never accepted to the local community college. I had to go up to broward county for school.
housing costs are up to the roof!
I was a medical assistant too, but I never worked at a doctor's office, I went straight from medical assistant school to work as a care assistant at the hospital that at the time paid $8/hr now they are starting at $9/hr (another friend I recommended and worked there as care assistant untill she took boards in feb).
The public transportation system here is not great nor convenient. I feel very unsafe traveling in them, so that is why I have a new car.
never been to jacksonville, but it sure sounds super nice.

I'm considering moving to florida from california. And I wanted to know what city would be best for nursing school? Also what city is the most affordable? I'm a medical assistant now and I want to further my education, where and what would you suggest.
