Depends on where you are working or where you want to work. Are you in a hospital? an LTC?

If IV certification was not included in your curriculum in NS, then that would be the first one to get. It could increase your pay rate by $1.00 in some places, or as little as 50 cents.

I know we have a thread about certifications for LPN's on this forum. Look for the thread and ask the nurses in that thread because the thread has a lot of good info.

I have found that when a certification is part of a job description, there is no extra pay. The best one can hope for is that the employee provides, or pays for, the certification training. All of this depends on the particular employer. Realize that certification incentive pay is a good target for cost cutting.

Wound care certification if you work in LTC can give a small pay increase...at least it did where I worked.
