Hello,

After high school, you will need to take a variety of general education classes before you can take the nursing school entrance exam (TEAS or HESI) in order to apply for nursing school.

The science classes are going to be the most important to be successful, not only in nursing school but on the floor as a nurse as well. Such as Anatomy, Physiology, Biology, Microbiology, and basic Chemistry. The other ones are good for your overall professional and personal growth.

Once in nursing school... the first class will be the Fundamentals of Nursing (kind of boring, if you ask me)... then you will move into Health Assessment, Med/Surge, Pharmacology, OB, Pediatrics, Mental Health, etc...

Do you know which school you want to attend? There are several things you need to keep in mind when searching for a reputable school. Let me know if you need help in that area... I'll give you several guidelines.

Cheers!

Thank you so much for your advice. Now I learn more about my dream career path. However, Im interested in how you get through the science exams; since Im quite bad at cramping stuffs, do you have any tips for that??

Hi James!

It will not be about cramming stuff... you will need to understand it, make sense out of it as it will link to other things and diseases. One day at a time. You do not learn everything in nursing school... some will be on the floor as you progress. It's ok.

Dedicate yourself and do your best. Afterwards... continue with your thirst of knowledge.
