Pace or Adelphi Help !!!!!!
MT3
You're very welcome. I was accepted at both Molloy and Adelphi. I chose Adelphi, not really for any particular reason, I think both schools are good nursing schools. No matter what college you go to there will be good and bad. I have experienced good and bad at Adelphi, but mostly good. I am happy with the education I've received. I have had some awesome professors and some that I wouldn't recommend. Funny thing is, alot of professors on Long Island teach at more than one school so no matter where you go..... there they are! :chuckle
Also, at all of my clinicals, and I've made a point to do them all at different hospitals, no one has ever had bad things to say about Adelphi. Like I said, if Adelphi had not prepared me properly it would have been a nightmare ... but it hasn't been. I am doing my senior internship in critical care and it has been awesome.
When you get accepted, just try to find out which professors to take, etc. It makes a world of difference. Best of luck to you!!! and have a great time!! Nursing school has changed the person I am........
Again, best of luck and welcome to the life of a student nurse!
to be.....
BSN2008,
Thank you for responding on behalf of all nursing students at AU. I do not understand how one can label a University that's over 100 years old, granting degrees at baccalaureate, masters and doctorate levels a "career college" is beyond comprehension. The statement was based on ignorance, not facts. So far, I am very satisfied with the education that I am getting at AU.
I'm graduating from Pace University (Pleasantville campus) with my BSN this May. I like it, but I don't know anything about Adelphi to compare. I transfered into Pace last year from Cal State LA when my DH got a job in my old hometown in NY - so I'm not super biased toward it one way or another. I know that Pace has a very high percentage of students who pass the NCLEX on the first try, if that means anything...
hi, i've been accepted to pace (pleasantville) and adelphi (garden city) for their bsn program. but i was wondering if anyone can tell me where pace and adelphi offers their clinical sites? and which school would be a better choice for clinicals?
i heard for pace in pleasantville, its mostly hospitals in westchester and some in connecticut. but in your senior year, you can choose whichever hospital you want so it can be ny-presbyterian, the hospital i want to work at. for adelphi, i heard it ranges from suffolk to nyc. which school do you think provides the best options for clinical sites??
any advice is greatly appreciated!!
I went to Pace Pleasantville and I thought it was a good program. I know one of my classmates started working at NY Presbyterian as an aide and got a scholarship for the last semester of school and then got a job there as an RN...
I also got hired (by Hudson Valley Hospital) before I even graduated. I start July 7th!

I am so happy you replied. I am waiting on my acceptance letter from Adelphi and was suprised to hear the negative remark. My husband and I are transferring to NY this summer and know nothing about the area. I have researched several schools and Adelphi was my top choice because it has the reputation of a top nursing school and gives a variety of class scheduling times which help when you have kids. I have done so much research and that comment really floored me. Glad to hear from a student that knows!!
