As a newbie to the forums, as well as only having a newfound interest in the nursing field, I'm curious about what type of atmospheres and job descriptions exist for RNs. I'm wondering if RN's primarily work in hospitals at bedsides, or is there a much wider variation?

So, what type of facility do you work in? What unit? Do you work part-time or full time? What type of shifts do you work? What do you generally do?

P.S. I'm not super familiar with all the abbreviations, if you wouldn't mind the little bit of extra explanation.

Thanks a lot!
