Does anyone know where in Texas is Joint Commission now?

I am soo nervous about them coming to our facility. Sometimes I get sooo nervous that I just shut down and my heart beats really fast.

They could ask me the simplest question and I wouldn't know what to say. That is how nervous I get. Its hard to explain.

What do I do in a situation like this? What can I tell them? and if anyone knows where Joint Commission is now please let me know.

It might help to remember they aren't evaluating you, there's evaluating your facility and how well they help you do your job. Relax, remember that if they ask you a simple question, that's all it is, a simple question, they aren't trying to take your license away or anything (and even if they were trying to that's not something they have the power to do).

I think it is normal to feel some anxiety with your first true experience with the JC. It really isn't that bad. In fact you often have adequate staffing during that week so things are better than usual.

Not only that, but if they ask you a question and you do not know the answer, you can tell them I don't know the answer, but I do know where to find it. Example: MSDS book, policy and procedure manual.
