Nationwide shortage of school nurses called a "crisis" that may be putting kids' lives at risk

Our school division is so incredibly fortunate. We have 84 schools with an RN in each school, in fact, some schools with a high acuity special needs population may have 2 RN's. There are also 48 clinic assistants, who can be either an LPN, CNA, or a MA. There is at least 1 clinic assistant in every middle and high school, and in some elementary schools. There are 5 Resource nurses, which help with mandatory screenings, and are supports for the nurses throughout the system. The staffing has been like this for so long that if they decided to take the RN's out of the schools the administrators and parents would absolutely flip out. Again, we are very fortunate.

Yes you are fortunate and I am happy for you (even if I am a bit jealous)!
