*After posting this I did a search and found some good information in a few posts. I still think it would be nice to have just a list of ideas for places to park for quick reference if anyone wants to contribute.*
I just wanted to see if anyone has any ideas for potential places to park for free while travel nursing if I were to live in a van? Some ideas so far that might be temporary and maybe not worth the effort:
My first choice would be asking the hospital I get contracted to if they would allow me to park overnight on campus. But if not...
Wal-Mart parking lot
Local airport parking lot
Fellow nurses' homes- maybe just for short periods of time?
State or National parks?- Not sure if this is possible
If staying for free doesn't seem possible, RV parks would be the next choice I guess.
Anyone have any other ideas?

Good one! Never would have thought of discussing that although the personal importance (or for stealth parking) is clear.
To NPbyDay: RV lifestyle is similar to traveling in at least one way, you do it because you love the lifestyle, not because of financial advantage (there is little to none to negative, although living rough in a van or car certainly would save money). Many of your other questions would be addressed just by reading multiple threads in this forum. You might also Google RV forums and do some reading there for the ins and outs of mobile lifestyle.
If you do not maintain a permanent residence, AKA tax home in IRS speak, you will not be eligible for one of the biggest financial benefits of being a traveler. I refer to getting tax free stipends for housing, meals, and mileage.
What do you do on your time off work now?
