This might be totally irrelevant but my mom is looking for clinical training to become an MA but she does not know where to begin. She also says she's willing to pay.

My community college offers a certificate program in MA training for a very reasonable price. I would suggest looking into your local community colleges before going to a for-profit school like ITT Tech. For-profit schools charge ridiculous fees for MA training, especially when you consider what most MAs make per hour.

I'd think that the clinical hours would come as part of any certification program. As Erin says, I would look to CC's before diploma mills. The instruction would probably be better, and the cost much more affordable.

Geez. Medical assistants are unregulated here. Most of them are called that and get some on the job training (OJT) pertaining to whatever skill or procedure they're learning.
My PCP is in a small group (about 5 docs), and they have a so called "MA" there who does allergy shots, phlebotomy, etc. She didn't go to school for anything.
