Where does an LVN new grad find a job?

Published

So excited to finally have my license and can't find a job :(

I was in the same boat. I graduated in 2009. I decided a few months ago to move out of state to the austin, tx area to look for work. After one month of moving I applied at at snf and got hired a week later with no snf experience. Try moving out of state if possible!

I became an LPN in '08, but stayed home with my kids and didn't work until recently. When I was ready to go back to get some experience, I applied at a clinic. I kind of knew the receptionist and she told me they were hiring an LPN. I applied & got the job! Try networking. Know anyone that works in a clinic, LTC, or hospital that might put in a good word for you? I didn't think I would find anything after not working so long, and found a job with great hours! Good luck!

I have seen a lot of job postings hiring new grads in Texas. I have my license in CA. Do you know what I need to do to practice in another state? Thanks!

I got in a hospital as a PCA that was known for hiring lots of LPNS, i worked for a few months and once a LPN position opened i applied and had other nurses put a good word in for me and i got the job'!.. try that too

You will need to obtain a Texas LVN license if you wish to work in Texas. Visit the Texas Board of Nursing website to read about the steps for obtaining a license by endorsement.

Thanks for the info!!!
