Where are the jobs at?

There really isn't a central database of flight jobs. I am currently looking for a flight medic spot and all i can say is start with air methods which is the largest and start going smaller. each state will have a registry of all the licensed Air Ambulance providers, which will give you a way to find all the companys. many of the hospital based flight crews are employed by the hospital which makes it that much harder to get on the copter. i can tell you Arizona and southern California have a very high concentration of copters. try monster and simply hired they are usually posted there as well when there are jobs.

ive found quite a few looking at the individual hospitals that have air transport near me...just sayin...

"It's a little cumbesome" ? With all your alpha-bets you find it too cumbersome?

Deep breath, Rio.. Mark is actually a "known" quantity in the world, as has all the alphabets because his primary(?) source of income is education--and it's hard to teach a review course if you can't show people you've passed the test.

It's also a reasonable question to ask: There is no central clearinghouse for jobs (aside from flight web, which isn't comprehensive) and he did state that looking at all the different individual companies is cumbersome, so I'm not sure how it's "slothful" or you're "spoon-feeding" him information that he already clearly stated.

Short answer--there isn't a clearinghouse that I know of. ADAMS Atlas & Database of Air Medical Services is what it's called, which could be helpful for your jobseekers, so they know what services exist in their target area.

Anyways -maybe my initial post could have been worded better.

I'm not being "slothful" nor do I need "spoon feeding".

I'm not looking for a job for myself, I'm looking to see what resources the flightnurse community uses or finds useful for their job searches (besides flightweb). I'm looking for ways to network and share information with the flightRNs and wondering where they are currently getting information from.

As I'm not presently in the flight job market myself, the things I'd be searching for might differ from what others are doing for their own research.

Hope that helps clarify a bit!

PS: no, its not my "primary" income, just part time. More of a labor of love to help others!

Mark, I hate to say it - but Google just might be the best way to go. I googled 'flight nurse jobs' and 'flight paramedic jobs' and got directed to concentrated sites like Indeed and other similar lists; as well as some newspaper ads. ASTNA has job listings; but like FlightWeb it isn't comprehensive. IAFP doesn't list jobs.

I think that's about it.

Check out Flightweb on the internet. Most jobs are located in the desert southwest. Look at Native American Air, Phoenix, Good Samaritan hospitals also Phoenix (they had the first flight program in the country. You might check Indian Health Services they cover Window Rock, Ship Rock, Chinle. Suncare Air, Yuma, Az. Presbyterian in Lubbock, Tx has an awesome operation. UMC (University Medical Center) Las Vegas. DES (Department emergency Services) in Arizona. Well that should keep you busy for a while. Good Luck! Fltnrse

EMSflightcrew.com has a "base map" tab on their site that may help, especially if someone has a desired job location or wants to find the programs available in an area. (However, the map is a little outdated.) I know it's not the job database you're looking for, but it's a starting point for the applicant to do their research on the companies.

Where would you guys direct people to go find flight jobs (OTHER than flightweb)? It's a little cumbesome to search all the flight company's websites indivdiually.
