Where do I take courses?

U.S.A. Florida

Where do I take the required courses? I have filled out my application for my FL license. I will be moving to FL 6/29. I can't find where to take the home study courses required for licensure on the internet. I have to take the HIV, med error and domestic abuse courses. Do I sign up on cebroker.com? Not sure whether to put down my PA address on application (which will allow me 6 months to take the courses) Or put down my FL address as of 6/29. Or should I wait until I get to West Melbourne, FL to take the courses? SO confused!! Please help.

I took my courses online I believe I took most of them through Nurse Spectrum try this link I still had it saved in my favorites for Florida www.nurseceu.com/mand.htm

I took my courses prior to sending in my application. And it took just over a month to obtain my license. Technically you should put your legal address which is where you are now. You will still have to send them a change of address notice when you move. You are not required to sign up with CE broker. I checked into it. I may pay for the service after I move.

But it is not mandatory. Will be in the Gainesville area within the next two months. Hope this helps! Best Wishes! smjlpn

Thank you smjlpn! I found all the courses I need and spent the day taking them. I am all ready to mail my application tommorrow. Hopefully, it will be quick like yours. I know I could have applied for the 6 month extension because I am out of state but was afraid that might hold it up. I hope you like Gainesville!

Glad you found your information. About CE Broker. I don't think it's required you sign up. I haven't signed up. It just means I have to keep track of my own CEUs and prove compliance should I ever be auditied. Which is what I've been doing all along. CE broker is a nice way to keep track of your CEUs, and the board can look up your CEUs and never have to officially audit you.

Welcome to Florida! :)
