Where should I relocate too??

Published

Hi family! I've been in contact with a recruiter is is trying to get me placed as an FNP so my questions is, which market is more favorable for NPs? I'm from Miami, Fl and I have had enough. I think it's time to move on. I need y'all expertise and experience on this one. Thanks!

Well since you are an FNP, I thing the FNP market is what you should look for. Is that what you are asking or do you want to know where the jobs are? Your recruitor knows about that.

Yes, she was writing some things down and taking notes. She said that her agency does have a few contracts with Walgreens and if that doesn't work, she has tons of places who would love to take a new grad. I shall see what she can do. I will not just pick up and leave for just animal crackers either. I need an offer than will make me think twice if I should turn it down.

isn't it funny how something you will "never" do becomes a viable option after you think about it (and hit brick walls) enough? my whole life and career consists of things I would have "never" done. best of luck to you in your search.

Thanks. So far one position in Fort Worth, Texas. My hubby said that was too far to move. So the recruiter says she will see what else she can come up with.

How has your experience been working with a recruiter? I graduate next summer and plan to relocate (location unknown) and thought if sing a recruiter.

Just started with her so I haven't seen any fairy dust magic yet. Personally I'm not even convinced she could do anything for me in the state of Florida which is my first choice of where I would like to relocate to. Walgreens fell through because I lack the 8 months experience. I am really frustrated and I will have to put my student loans into forbearance. It's one year since I've graduated from NP school.

Keep an open mind about location...make a list in order of preference for areas outside of Florida where you wouldnt mind working and areas that are not an option so that the recruiter is able to maximize her searching and do the best job for you. As an RN I had to leave south Florida as a new grad to get the experience so I know its rough but once you get the experience they will be calling you for jobs in south Florida. Expand your horizons. It was the best thing I ever did leaving south Florida even if only for a short time.

I am starting my ACNP program next week and am already open to the possibility I might have to leave South Florida but only time will tell. Keep us posted on how it works out for you

I think as an ACNP, your changes will be a little better than an FNP. You could start networking for major hospitals and urgent care centers while in the program. My friend is working in the ER right now and she loves it. They trained her fresh out of school. Good luck to you also!?
