Due to the economic recession, the hospital I work at is sending people home! I am the only bread earner at home. I need to find whatever nursing jobs pay well to feed my kids. Any suggestions? Thank you all.

Where in AZ? Just last night I saw a few pool RN jobs at Maricopa County. I would consider going pool at a different hospital in addition to keeping your regular job.

You may not like this, but rehab facilities will pay a premium for an R.N., some of the nicer facilities have only 50 beds meaning you may have at most 20 patients, pass meds a few charts, and a few I.V.'s. Try your pay at the hospital and double it, whether it is a SNF or a LTC facility; the desire for R.N.'s is palpable. Add on a sign on bonus and you could easily pay for some of your bills. Some facilitys have a I.V. R.N. as it sounds the R.N. hangs I.V.'s and T.P.N.'s. Alot of my friends have been forced from temp/registry jobs as a lot of nurses are coming back to work as stay at home moms have to go back to work cause Dad lost his job and so on. So I would not recomend temp jobs, times are tuff and healthcare; specifically Nursing is the answer for most. Good luck, and hope this helps.....
Thank you. I will try some rehab hosptials. Can you guys name a few? Appreciate your helps very much.
Health South (2), Kindred Hospital (2), Advanced Health care (2), Hearthstone of Mesa, Hearthstone of Sun City, Heritage at Carefree, Sringdale East, Springdale West, Plaza Health Care, Scottsdale Heritage Court, Bryans Extended Care Center - may have a new name, I forgot what it is. That's a good start, google them for an address. I've given you all over the phoenix area, and some (not all), are really nice facilities and may or may not have openings, keep the faith and keep asking. Remember: R.N.'s are in short supply among these facilities and you have plenty of leverage to get a good paying job. Although not as nice as hospitals, the load may appear more, but it is not primary/hands on care there are CNA's/L.P.N.'s for that. Worse case get your self a job as charge nurse on one of the units, this will put you in a more paperwork based job but maybe more managable. The only reason I add this is hospital nurses don't like LTC/SNF's, it's not that bad and as I have eluded to the pay is pretty good also....... good luck....
