Do a search online. Depending on what your interests are, you should find everything on an internet site. I live in NC so I go to the NCBON and look up continuing education and they usually have suggested sites there. Go to your state board of nursing and check. If they dont have anything listed there just do a general search on "continuing education for nurses", and specify any sepecialties you might be interested in, for example: "hospice" or "womens health". You should find online classes you can do at your own pace.
the follow websites offer continuing education for a fee.
rn.com - 49 dollars/year, unlimited access
pearlsreview.com - 69 dollars/year, unlimited access
I currently use pearlsreview and can't talk enough about how good they are. You can open the CE as a PDF file and read at your own pace, you answer questions when you finish reading and you can print your certificate immediately. The only down side is that the courses are only for 1 CEU. The plus side is that they have reviews for everything you can imagine.
Professional organizations offer seminars, conferences, etc. of all lengths and types. For example, a local organization my have a single speaker for an hour in the evening ... while a national organization may sponsor a 3-day conference. Check out your local nursing organizations if you are interested in brief local programs ... and the national organizations in your specialty if you are interested in larger programs.
Many nursing journals also offer CEU activities that may not be free, but are usually very cheap. Local hospitals may also offer programs with CEU's. Ask around your local area.

I really like to learn new things but I'm horrible at staying focused while I read books and what not. Where would be a good place to start looking for some continuing education classes/seminars etc.?
