Where are the FL BON Approved RN Refresher Courses

I live in the Pensacola/Milton/Tallahassee area. I am in need of an RN refresher course, due to expired RN license. I have searched high and low on the site, and cant find anything. Its even difficult to locate anything from the Board of Nursing, in FL. The Online classes are for the birds, they cost in excess of 1500.00 to 2k :eek: Any input would be greatly appreciated. If I can't locate anything....gotta do what I gotta do.....

How long must you be out of the clinical setting in order to take a refresher course? I am in south FL..

I believe that question would be up to you. I had to take the refresher to get my RN license reinstated, which was a requirement of the BON. Is your license active? Are you wanting a refresher just for your peace of mind?

Looks like I got bumped out...RN refresher courses are available through Clinical Solutions and Kane. I am getting reading to take some from both companies. They both offer courses all over the country and are accreditated. I was out of service getting my MSN and need to refresh my clinical skills.

Hello dear,

when you attend the hearing with fl board, what did they do and what they ask or talk or decide basically?

I just got s letter from fl board that they encourage me to attend the hearing. I was lacking hours in some theory and clinical. But the still consider my application.

I just curious is there any changing decision with the meeting if you attend.

I know one in Tampa Florida that has both a RN and LPN Remedial Course . You can do their class online and then they set you up with clinical that you can do two ways, either with them once a week for 4 weeks or 4 -12 hour days.

the theory is online, and then they have a online clinical.

Its Florida Board of Nursing Approved.

I did this remedial. EXCELLENT ! I was getting messed around by the FL BON and could not find a remedial that I could manage to keep a job AND complete it.

Veritas is great !. I just got permission to sit my boards thanks to them.

Don't wast your time with driving to Orlando etc and taking days off for your clinicals. If you live within 2 hours of Tampa,this is the place to go.

It was a blend of classroom and clinical with a very good on-line part and lots of NCLEX test taking material available if you want/need it.

The registration is easy as their admin has it together and was very pofessional in getting it done without biting your head off like at some places . The instructors have cobined years of experience but are fresh in their knowledge and can not do enough to get you through it properly.
