Where do you find information about a nurse?

A nursing professor once told us about a site where you type in the person's name and it will give you info about their job LPN or RN etc. and where they are working, etc...

Does anyone know what site that is on. I'm trying to figure out where an old friend of mine works.

Go to your provincial college of nurses and look for "Find a Nurse"

I'm in ON, so I would google "CNO Find a Nurse."

clpna only gives you the name, registration number, and any specialties.

We've had "stalkers" of nurses and I'd hate to think they gave out my workplace on the www. We don't even tell patients when a nurse will be on their next shift.

Yea, here in ON it shows where you're working and contact (it doesn't show what floor you work on but people can easily find that out by just calling).

I don't know if that's the same site as what the prof showed us because I wasn't paying attention since I didn't think I would ever want to find out where a nurse works. Plus, it doesn't seem to be working for me, or at least I couldn't find the person I was looking for, or any other name I typed for that matter. I eventually typed in John Smith just to test if it actually works and only 2 John Smith's (odd?)showed up and one of them is not entitled to practice. Poor guy. I wonder what happened to him.

They're probably using a different last name... but it should work if they are a RN in your province/territory. You can't practice unless your registered on those provincial colleges of nurses. There's many reasons why people are not entitled to practice. At least on the ON one they tell you why... for example, I know someone is not entitled to practice because they quit the whole nursing profession. I mean, it makes sense, why would they pay the registration fees every year if they no longer want to practice as a nurse.
