I am looking for my nursing transcripts from1986-1989. I trained at the william harvey hospital in Ashford, Kent. I have read a few posts but they are all old.
According to the National Archives all the ENB records from 1902-1989 were given to the NMC, however the NMC deny this. WHERE have these records gone, they cant have just disappeared.
I desperately need the transcript for immigration and it is becoming quite depressing going round and round in circles trying to find MY records.
Any help would be grately appreciated

I had this problem back in the day. I trained at the Royal Free School of Nursing in London in 1989 but was one of the last sets of the diploma classes. It became a degree just after I started. My school of nursing was taken over by North Middlesex University and I had to contact them to get my transcripts which were in a box in the basement! Can you find out if your class was allocated to another university? Find out where the records from your school were taken or if they're stored somewhere.

My practical nursing transcripts from 1984-85 disappeared into thin air. The school was a very small building connected to the ambulance shed out behind the hospital. They closed down a couple of years after graduation, as they transferred the program to a local voc-tech school, which was then bought out by the voc-tech school two counties over, and then transformed into a technical college.
There was a charge, which I paid, to do an archive search for the transcripts. That search sent me on a 100-mile goose chase into Atlanta, where I paid for the search of archives again. That was 14 years ago....still no transcripts. Fortunately, my ASN program accepted my valid LPN nursing license and employment history as enough documentation into their online bridge program.
It took me years of searching and finally finding a program that would accept me without those transcripts..and this was after I had given up on pursuing an ASN degree even as casually as a person can get. I can't imagine what issues with immigration you may encounter without those transcripts. But I do wish you well.
Don't know if this is any help but maybe it's worth emailing them to see if they can advise you:

Hi,
thank you for your comments.
I have contacted the hospital where I trained they don't have the records from that time and are not a lot of help. I have contacted the University that took over the training after the school of nursing closed, they dont have records going that far back. It really does feel as though it has all just disappeared.
Thank you Rocknurse for the link, I have emailed them and just waiting for a reply but that appears to be more for doctors.

I think these days universities only keep transcripts for 10 years and then destroy them.... not sure why in this day of electronic databases they can not store them somewhere. It used to be NMC issued something that confirmed training would have met a certain criteria so that you could register and work as a RN in the UK.
