Where can I enroll ASAP into Nursing Program?

This is so baffling -

with the nursing shortage and all, one might think nursing school would be easy to get into.

I have a BS already and would be enrolling in an Associates program.

Everywhere has a wait list. What's up with that? Any recommendations?

(I need to go part time in the eves/weekends)

I greatly appreciate all who have taken the time to respond.

I have applied to BMCC and will plan to start taking classes during their summer session. If offered, i'll start with Anatomy & Physiology 1 & 2 - they seem like requirements no matter where i attend. I'd love to stay the whole time at BMCC, but i'm worried about the Nursing School waiting list. :-(
