We are all going to wear white uniforms to work one day and wear our caps. I graduated 30 years ago from a school that is no longer there. Does anyone know where I can get a cap with the black velvet stripe? Thanks!

Try one of the other nursing programs in your area. Hope there are some.
Especially try the Vo-Techs, if still open, and community colleges. They tend to keep their supplies and you might be able to purchase one. You can always buy black velvet ribbon to put on the cap.
I have an original cape that was worn by the nurses in the '50's. Would not take anything for that.
Good luck!!!!!!

Thanks Penny! I just "Googled" till I was dizzy and couldn't come up with anything but the history of caps. Actually, it's a shame we don't wear them anymore. I don't want to wear one but it did make us stand out from everyone else. Now the patient is not sure who is what.

Try ebay, too if you only want one it may be easier (kays likes to deal in bulk)...some are brand new, a few sellers regularly deal with caps.
On the other hand, if you're active with your alumni association you may want to see if there would be interest in an order of your school cap (kays likely has it on file) The hospital I work for has an AA for their old school and has caps available for alumni to purchase- three nurses still wear them to work, some I guess just want the memento/ heirloom, and apparently there is a demand for them as a "last request" by nurses that have passed away, maybe that's just a school tradition?
