Where to buy cheat sheet/reference cards that fit on lanyard behind badge?

Published

I did a web search but I am not really sure what theyre called! My instructor told us that we could write the average weights, temp. conversions, BP's on a little paper to put on our lanyard to have as a reference but I am not sure where I could get them laminated if I did.

She also showed us her badge and she had some that she got from a previous employer. Does any place sell these? Please let me know. Thanks in advance.

Many office supply stores will laminate just about anything. I don't know what it costs but the last time I checked it wasn't very expensive. They do it in the same area they do copying and printing. Some of them also sell kits to do the laminating yourself.

Our local library laminates anything for 50cents a foot! Check yours out.

You can buy packs of things meant to make name tags (so will be the same size as your name tag), and have the hole for the name tag clip. Some are meant to be put through a machine that laminates them (really it is 2 heated rollers that roll it through and melt the plastic together around what is in it) Probably not worth buying the machine, but the packs are cheap enough it might be worth buying a pack and seeing if you cant do it with an iron (no steam, wax paper in between so it doesnt melt to iron or anything )....actually think I might consider that now. I think there are also "self laminiting" ones, which just stick together.

There is a Aussie website Welcome to Nurse Stuff - Nurse Stuff that I used to get some. They have a whole range of them. Even if they don't deliver to the USA I am sure you would be able to get the name of the company that makes the cards.

oh i just found these http://criticalsecond.com/index.php?cPath=21

However I still think buying the laminating pouches and making your own would work better as you could put the info you want on there and fit a lot more info that would be useful to you structured how would be easy for you to find it. (do it on the computer, save it, can always edit it later and make a new one when some info you dont need anymore and maybe you find new info that would be useful to have to refer to)

Plus i know where I am starting school, IDs are horizontal, so vertical cards would be awkward sticking out.

My plan is to make up some cards in a fine print and color code them on the computer then laminate them myself. I found a product made by Scotch brand called "self-sealing laminating pouches". Says they are photo safe and acid free so if you wanted something like an anatomy quick reference you could do that as well. Just scan it to your computer, make it small enough then print it off. I think it's a wonderful idea to have that reference with you. I think you could also find some "holders" to put them in or punch a retangle hole in it so you could have a few cards to "flip through" for lab values etc.

Hope this helps :)
