Where do you apply for student loans?

Published

I was approved for a Citi-Assist loan for this semester and when I went to re-apply for next semester I was denied =(. I am currently getting $7,500 per year through my school in a Stafford Loan, I was told by the school that I would only be allowed $7,500 per year in loans. Is there anywhere else I could apply for a student loan? Unfortunately I am almost certain that my credit score is horrible.

My wife and I recently signed up with a debt managemnt company and I think we just waited too long and my credit score is now destroyed so I am EXTREMELY nervous that I won't be able to attend school next semester.

Try www.salliemae.com. You can borrow up to $40,000.00 per year (max of $120,000.00) and have 30 years to pay back after getting out of school. You can apply on line. The money is sent directly to you, not the school.

You should check with your school's financial aid department. They can usually help find you student loans if you are having trouble.

I agree. They have probably had this happen before and can help you get in the right direction.

Good luck.

Try Wells Fargo. It worked for me and my credit isn't the best.
