When you're in NICU you know...

When you are in NICU you know:

1. What it looks like when a parent's heart is breaking, as they are told there is nothing more we can do for their baby.

2. That "too young to die," is just a phrase used in movies.

3. To never trust a cardiac kid.

4. To never trust a temp probe.

5. The profound honor in handing a new mother her baby for the first time, after weeks of separation.

6. The immense satisfaction in discharging a baby who went through hell and back, and is now big, fat, and healthy.

7. That even the tiny acorn can become a huge Oak tree.

Can anybody think of other ideas?????

"Never trust a 35 weeker."

'He just isn't quite right today' is a descriptive diagnosis and any decent medic will do a full exam, septic screen, AXR and start abx

You can diagnose at least 5 genetic disorders while the baby is upside down at delivery
