When you just don't want to go to work....

Although I love my job, and would not work anywhere else, sometimes when I've had a day off and I am going back for a three day (12 hr shifts) run, I just don't feel like going! Sometimes I'm a little sad, pre-occupied, or just need time for myself. I know I have to go anyway. You can't just stay home because you want to. So here is my question for you all: What do you do motivate yourself, to psych yourself up, or help yourself look forward to going in to work at those times when you do not feel like going? I'd love some advice!

I have apprehension before I go to work, but I know once I get there I feel fine. So I tell myself "once you get to work you feel fine, right?" My apprehension isn't due to the job itself, it's due to feeling like I lose three days of home life. I noticed when the nights began to draw in, some of it for me is I don't see my home in the day light.

That is a lot of it for me too....I miss being home!! I hadn't really thought about that before, but that does bother me a lot!

I'm going back to work officially this Friday after almost 2 months being unemployed.

I very seriously doubt I'll ever be reluctant to go to work again but if I ever get the blahs I have to remember that at one point I was living with only 500 dollars to my name.

Trying not to be nervous after being out of a job so long.

Try to appreciate what you've got going for you. I know it can be really really crappy and tough but you'll have days off and you'll be able to shop and eat and live normally.

I think about the paycheck, and the fact that I'm glad to be employed as a useful member of society and that I'll be able to pay the bills and help out my elderly parents with their bills this month. And that it probably won't be so bad once I get there and I can do anything for 12 hours.

Disneyworld!!!

But seriously I love Disney and we're going in Jan with our son which I hope will be an annual thing. I figure roughly two shift covers one day of Disney.

I just picture how much fun my son will have there and it makes it worth it.

Also I'm per diem :)
